Ongoing Archaeological Exploration Project in El-Hibeh

The Ongoing Archaeological Exploration Project in El-Hibeh

In 2015, Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada embarked on an ongoing project to develop and explore new methods and robotic exploration technologies to reconstruct, interpret and disseminate the unknown areas of the el-Hibeh archaeological site.

This project involves the use of robots developed by Ryerson students to explore access holes (tunnels) in the site, which are equipped with the use of innovative sensors and implementing various computer vision methodologies, allowing people to reconstruct and navigate a digital model of the interior of the small temple.
